  • Prof. Chiara Neto - Founder & Advisor

    Chiara is a physical chemist and Professor in the School of Chemistry at the University of Sydney. She is a recognised expert in interfacial flow and surface wetting. Her research focuses on functional nanostructured surfaces for sustainable technologies. As Chief Scientific Officer, Professor Chiara Neto currently supports Dewpoint’s ongoing research and development as an advisor.

  • Dr Ming Chiu - Founder & CTO

    Dr Ming Chiu is one of the company’s founders, having completed his PhD on structured polymeric surfaces for atmospheric water capture, including the technology that underpins Dewpoint. Ming also has 10 years’ experience in surface coating on industrial protective paint and architectural paint formulation, with in-depth understanding of international standard operations.

  • Prof Cather Simpson - Director

    Cather Simpson is one of New Zealand’s most respected scientists and is a professor of physics and chemical sciences at the University of Auckland. She founded and directed The Photon Factory, a research hub jointly appointed to the physics and chemistry departments. Cather has co-founded three high-tech start-ups, including Engender Technologies, where she served as Chief Science Officer from 2011 to 2021, growing the spin-out into a company that was eventually acquired by a large corporate. In 2022, Cather was awarded the New Zealand Kiwinet Commercialisation Icon award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to commercialising research IP.

  • Tibor Schwartz - Director

    Tibor Schwartz is a passionate advocate for the energy transition with over 30 years of experience spanning investment management, mining, exploration, technology, and consulting for capital-intensive sectors. Currently a Non-Executive Director at Dewpoint Innovations, he also advises the University of Sydney’s School of Chemistry and was the former Chair of Archer Materials’ Quantum Technology Advisory Board. Tibor has held senior roles in Fund Management, Consulting, ICT, and Mining & Exploration with firms such as HMC Capital, QIC, Ericsson, and Vodafone. He holds an MBA in Technology Management, an MSc in Applied Geophysics, and is a graduate of the AICD Company Directors course.

  • Dr. Leong Mar - Director

    Dr Leong Mar is a seasoned leader in entrepreneurship and innovation with more than 25 years of experience spanning commercial enterprises and research organisations. He has played key roles in technology startups as a founder, mentor, advisor, and non-executive director. Prior to joining the University of Sydney, Leong held senior roles at CSIRO, including Commercial Initiatives Director and Commercial Director for the Missions Program. He has served on Uniseed’s Investment Committee since 2018 and the NSW Government’s Physical Sciences Fund Investment Sub-Committee since 2019. Previously, he worked for DuPont Australia for 10 years in technical and growth roles.
